Honesty Electrical, LLC
Effective Date: September 16, 2025
These Terms & Conditions apply to estimates, quotations, proposals, work orders, service calls, projects, and other electrical work performed by Honesty Electrical, LLC (“Honesty Electrical,” “Contractor,” “we,” or “us”).
By signing or electronically accepting a quotation, approving work, issuing a purchase order, authorizing Honesty Electrical to proceed, or otherwise requesting that work begin, the customer, property owner, general contractor, or authorized representative (“Customer”) agrees to these Terms & Conditions together with the applicable quotation, proposal, approved change orders, and other written project documents.
1. Contract Documents and Scope of Work
The specific scope of work is limited to the labor, materials, equipment, services, allowances, and other items expressly identified in the applicable estimate, quotation, proposal, work order, or written change order.
Items not specifically stated as included should not be assumed to be included.
Project-specific scope, exclusions, clarifications, drawings, specifications, addenda, alternates, allowances, payment requirements, and written revisions form part of the agreement between Customer and Honesty Electrical.
If a project-specific written quotation or approved change order contains terms that differ from these general Terms & Conditions, the project-specific written terms will control for that project.
2. Proposal Pricing and Validity
Proposal pricing is valid for the period stated in the quotation or proposal.
Unless otherwise stated, pricing is subject to:
- Material availability
- Manufacturer pricing
- Equipment lead times
- Market conditions
- Applicable taxes and fees
- Final project requirements
- Utility requirements
- Authority Having Jurisdiction requirements
- Changes in plans, specifications, drawings, or project conditions
Pricing may be revised if the Customer does not authorize the work within the stated proposal-validity period.
3. Deposits and Payment
Deposits, progress payments, retainage, and final payment requirements will be stated in the applicable quotation, proposal, invoice, or project agreement.
When a deposit is required, Honesty Electrical is not required to order nonreturnable or specially manufactured material, reserve substantial project resources, or begin field mobilization until the required deposit or other agreed authorization has been received.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, invoices are due according to the payment terms shown on the applicable quotation or invoice.
Partial or progress invoicing does not change the total approved contract value.
Payment of an invoice does not waive amounts properly due for approved change orders, additional authorized work, or other charges permitted by the project agreement.
4. Changes and Additional Work
Work outside the accepted scope requires additional authorization and may result in additional cost and/or schedule adjustments.
Changes may include, but are not limited to:
- Customer-requested changes
- Revised drawings or specifications
- Field-directed changes
- Additional work requested by the owner, general contractor, construction manager, or authorized representative
- Utility-company requirements
- Inspector or Authority Having Jurisdiction requirements
- Design revisions
- Unforeseen or concealed conditions
- Conditions differing from the information available when the proposal was prepared
- Additional mobilization or remobilization
- Work required because of other trades or project conditions
Whenever reasonably practical, additional work will be documented through a written change order or other written authorization before the additional work is performed.
Emergency, safety-related, troubleshooting, or time-sensitive conditions may require immediate action when authorized by the Customer or its representative.
5. Basis of Proposal
Where a quotation identifies drawings, specifications, addenda, engineering documents, plans, schedules, or other bid documents, pricing is based on the specific documents and revisions identified in that quotation.
Documents, revisions, directives, or requirements issued after the proposal date are not automatically included in the original contract value.
Changes to the basis of proposal may require revised pricing or a written change order.
6. Customer Responsibilities
Customer is responsible for providing Honesty Electrical with reasonable and timely access to the work area and for identifying known conditions that may affect the work.
Unless specifically included in the proposal, Customer is responsible for coordinating access to:
- Buildings
- Electrical rooms
- Equipment
- Tenant spaces
- Secured areas
- Utility areas
- Other locations reasonably necessary to perform the work
Customer is also responsible for providing accurate project information and notifying Honesty Electrical of known hazardous, concealed, or unusual site conditions.
Delays resulting from unavailable access, incomplete preceding work, other trades, owner restrictions, site conditions, or conditions outside Honesty Electrical’s reasonable control may affect the project schedule and cost.
7. Existing and Concealed Conditions
Electrical work frequently involves existing systems, concealed construction, underground conditions, and equipment installed by others.
Honesty Electrical is not responsible for conditions that could not reasonably have been identified before work began.
Examples may include:
- Concealed wiring
- Damaged existing conductors
- Improper previous installations
- Abandoned wiring
- Inaccessible junctions
- Underground obstructions
- Unknown utilities
- Existing code deficiencies
- Defective existing equipment
- Structural conditions
- Water intrusion
- Hazardous materials
- Conditions discovered after equipment or finishes are opened or removed
Additional work required because of unforeseen or concealed conditions will be discussed with the Customer and may require additional authorization.
8. Utility Companies, Permits, Inspections, and Authorities
Honesty Electrical will perform the contracted electrical work in accordance with the approved project requirements and applicable electrical codes within the scope of our work.
Final approval of permits, inspections, electrical service, utility connections, energization, or other governmental or utility requirements remains under the control of the applicable authority or utility provider.
Honesty Electrical does not control and cannot guarantee:
- Utility-provider response times
- Utility engineering timelines
- Utility arrival dates
- Utility repair timelines
- Utility disconnection or reconnection schedules
- Restoration of permanent utility service
- Utility-owned equipment
- Permit-review timelines
- Inspection scheduling
- Governmental review timelines
- Approval timing by an Authority Having Jurisdiction
Additional work required by a utility company, engineer, inspector, fire marshal, or other authority that was not included in the original scope may require a written change order.
Permit fees, utility fees, engineering fees, inspection fees, and similar third-party charges are included only when specifically stated in the proposal.
9. Scheduling and Delays
Project schedules are based on information available when the work is scheduled and may depend upon material availability, site readiness, preceding work, access, inspections, utilities, other contractors, and project coordination.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, work is based on normal business hours.
Honesty Electrical is not responsible for delays caused by circumstances reasonably outside our control, including but not limited to:
- Material shortages
- Manufacturer delays
- Utility delays
- Permit or inspection delays
- Weather
- Site-access restrictions
- Customer-caused delays
- Other contractors or trades
- Changes in project scope
- Unforeseen field conditions
- Events beyond the reasonable control of Honesty Electrical
Schedule impacts resulting from additional or changed work may require additional time.
10. Materials and Equipment
Materials and equipment will be selected based on the approved scope, specifications, availability, code requirements, and project needs.
Where a specific manufacturer, model, or product becomes unavailable or is subject to unreasonable lead times, Honesty Electrical may propose an equivalent substitution for approval when appropriate.
Special-order, custom, or nonreturnable materials may require advance payment and may be subject to manufacturer cancellation or restocking policies.
Manufacturer warranties remain subject to the applicable manufacturer’s warranty terms.
11. Exclusions
Unless specifically included in the applicable quotation, proposal, or work order, Honesty Electrical’s scope does not automatically include work performed by other trades or restoration of unrelated building components.
Common exclusions may include, depending on the project:
- Utility-owned work or equipment
- Engineering or architectural design
- Civil or structural work
- Concrete
- Asphalt
- Landscaping
- Painting
- Drywall or finish repair
- Roofing
- Plumbing
- Mechanical work
- Fire alarm
- Security
- Access control
- Data and communications systems
- Hazardous-material remediation
- Specialty testing
- Work outside the specifically identified electrical scope
The exclusions contained in the applicable project quotation control and may include additional project-specific exclusions.
12. Workmanship Warranty
Honesty Electrical stands behind the quality of its workmanship.
Unless a different written warranty is specifically provided for a project, Honesty Electrical provides a one-year workmanship warranty on qualifying work performed by Honesty Electrical, beginning from substantial completion of the applicable work.
The workmanship warranty applies to defects caused by Honesty Electrical’s installation or workmanship.
The workmanship warranty does not cover conditions caused by:
- Abuse, misuse, or neglect
- Damage by others
- Alterations or repairs performed by others
- Failure of customer-owned or existing equipment
- Manufacturer defects
- Normal wear
- Power-quality problems
- Utility conditions
- Lightning
- Flooding
- Water intrusion
- Fire
- Acts of nature
- Conditions outside Honesty Electrical’s installed work
Manufacturer warranties on equipment and materials are governed by the manufacturer’s terms.
Warranty work must be reasonably accessible for inspection and repair.
13. Existing Equipment and Customer-Supplied Materials
Honesty Electrical cannot guarantee the condition, compatibility, service life, or future performance of existing equipment or customer-supplied equipment unless specifically agreed in writing.
When Customer requests installation of Customer-supplied materials or equipment, Honesty Electrical is responsible for its workmanship but does not provide a manufacturer or product warranty for materials or equipment not supplied by Honesty Electrical.
Additional labor required because customer-supplied equipment is incomplete, defective, incompatible, incorrectly specified, or missing required components may result in additional charges.
14. Testing and Completion
Honesty Electrical will test completed electrical work as reasonably appropriate for the contracted scope.
Final acceptance by an inspector, utility company, engineer, owner, general contractor, fire marshal, or Authority Having Jurisdiction may require participation or action by third parties outside Honesty Electrical’s control.
Minor punch-list items that do not prevent the electrical system or completed portion of work from being used for its intended purpose do not automatically prevent substantial completion.
15. Safety and Site Conditions
Honesty Electrical reserves the right to stop or delay work when conditions present an unreasonable safety risk to employees, customers, occupants, other contractors, or property.
Work may resume when the unsafe condition has been reasonably corrected.
Customer shall notify Honesty Electrical of known hazardous materials or hazardous site conditions that could affect our employees or work.
16. Suspension of Work
Honesty Electrical may suspend work when required payments or required project authorizations have not been received, when access is unavailable, when conditions are unsafe, or when circumstances prevent the work from being performed reasonably and safely.
Schedule adjustments resulting from a suspension outside Honesty Electrical’s control may require rescheduling based on crew and material availability.
17. Electronic Acceptance and Authorization
Electronic signatures, online quotation acceptance, email authorization, approved purchase orders, and other written electronic communications may be used to document authorization to proceed.
By electronically accepting a quotation or proposal, the person accepting represents that they are authorized to approve the work on behalf of the Customer.
The accepted quotation, approved revisions, selected alternates, written change orders, applicable payment terms, and these Terms & Conditions together form the agreement governing the authorized work.
18. Project-Specific Agreements
Commercial construction contracts, subcontract agreements, maintenance agreements, purchase orders, service-level agreements, or other separately executed contracts may contain project-specific terms.
When Honesty Electrical and Customer execute a separate written agreement, that agreement and any expressly incorporated documents will govern according to their terms.

Questions concerning scope, exclusions, pricing, payment requirements, scheduling, warranties, or these Terms & Conditions should be addressed before authorization whenever possible.
