Honesty Electrical is hiring an experienced Journeyman Electrician who is ready to perform high-quality electrical work, lead field operations, and help develop the next generation of electricians.
We are a growing, family-owned electrical company and a U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Program. We take personal responsibility for training apprentices correctly and maintaining high standards for safety, workmanship, professionalism, and accountability.
This position is intended for an electrician who can work independently, troubleshoot effectively, communicate professionally, and provide guidance to apprentices and helpers in the field.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical installation, service, maintenance, and troubleshooting projects
- Read plans, evaluate jobsite conditions, and determine appropriate installation methods
- Perform electrical work in compliance with the National Electrical Code and applicable local requirements
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and identify safe, practical solutions
- Direct, train, and mentor apprentices and helpers
- Inspect completed work for quality and code compliance
- Maintain accurate job notes, photographs, material records, and closeout documentation
- Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, office staff, and other trades
- Maintain an organized company vehicle, tools, materials, and work area
- Follow all company and jobsite safety requirements
Required Qualifications
- Current Texas Journeyman Electrician license or documented qualifications and immediate eligibility to obtain one
- Verifiable electrical work experience and documented work hours
- Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
- Ability to perform electrical work with limited supervision
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience leading apprentices, helpers, or small field crews
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Reliable attendance and professional communication
- Commitment to honesty, accountability, safety, and quality workmanship
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial electrical experience
- Service and troubleshooting experience
- Experience bending and installing EMT and other raceway systems
- Ability to read electrical plans and specifications
- Experience estimating labor and material requirements
- Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills
- Leadership, mentoring, and conflict-resolution experience
